Dr. Allison Tarbox
Licensed Psychologist/PY9307

Hello! I am Dr. Allison Tarbox and I am a Licensed Psychologist. I recently opened Bay Area Psychology with my close friend, Dr. Nicole Agresto, and I could not be more excited to offer psychological evaluation and therapeutic services to my hometown community. I specialize in the psychological assessment of children, adolescents, and adults. I often work with individuals who are in need of an evaluation for diagnostic clarification and treatment planning purposes, or who are in need of accommodations for academic purposes. I also specialize in conducting forensic evaluations for the criminal and family court systems. Additionally, I provide therapy to adolescents and adults.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Bachelor of Science in Criminology from the University of Tampa. I earned my Master’s and Doctorate Degrees in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Neuropsychology from the Florida School of Professional Psychology. I obtained extensive training and experience in forensic psychology while attending graduate school. I completed my pre-doctoral internship training in a maximum-security prison in Colorado. My post-doctoral training was completed at Psychological and Neurobehavioral Services, PA in Lakeland, Florida with Dr. Tracey Henley, Neuropsychologist and Board Certified Forensic Psychologist.

Regarding my clinical experience, I have been working with adolescents and their families for over 13 years. I worked for Operation PAR throughout graduate school conducting assessment and individual and group therapy services to juveniles involved with the Department of Juvenile Justice. While in graduate school, I completed three years of diagnostic training in private practice and outpatient community mental health centers where I conducted psychological and forensic evaluations for criminal and family court in the 6th and 10th Judicial Circuits of Florida. I also completed two years of therapy training in outpatient, detox, and inpatient substance abuse and mental health facilities.

I became licensed as a psychologist in Florida in 2015. I have worked in private practice since providing psychological, neuropsychological, and forensic evaluations in Lakeland and Largo where I specialized in psychological assessment, diagnosing, and treatment planning. My private practice experience has consisted of working with individuals with a history of cognitive impairment, anxiety, depression, ADHD, Autism, behavioral issues, legal problems, and/or trauma.
